Ansel Adams: Sierra Nevada: The John Muir Trail Reissued
In 1938, just 500 copies were printed of an extraordinary photographic journey through the High Sierra in California . Sierra Nevada: The John Muir Trail became a rare and valuable collectors' item. (On seeing the book, Alfred Stieglitz wrote, "You have literally taken my breath away.") Two new editions of this Ansel Adams masterpiece have been reissued. The deluxe edition-once again limited to 500 copies, each numbered and signed by the Ansel Adams Trust-is an oversize folio, letterpress-printed from hand-set type on English moulmade cotton fiber paper. The 50 photographic plates are individually tipped in by hand, as in the ori gina l, and the large, linen-bound volume arrives in a matching slipcase. Hardcover, 224 pages, 12 ½" x 16 ½" . Quantities are limited. The standard edition is hardcover, 128 pages, about 10" x 12".
