Don Gentile's "Shangri-La" P-51B Nose Art
Artist Gary Velasco is often commissioned by museums and private collectors to paint the nose art on restored warbirds. He also creates exacting half-scale replica panels that capture the fighting spirit that led pilots and squadrons to individualize their fighter planes with names, pictures and kill tallies. Shown here is his re-creation of the original nose markings from the airplane of Robert T. Smith, a Flying Tiger based in Rangoon, Burma in 1941; painted in the USA onto aircraft-grade aluminum. 18"H x 26"W. No rush delivery or gift box
