The Civil War Original Soundtrack Recording
The soundtrack to the landmark PBS series is a moving collection of period songs and melodies. Produced by filmmaker Ken Burns, it made Jay Ungar a star for his haunting performance of "Ashokan Farewell," the series theme. The 28 tracks also include "We Are Climbing Jacob's Ladder" (sung by Bernice Johnson Reagon of Sweet Honey in the Rock), "Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier," "Dixie," "Weeping Sad and Lonely," and "Shenandoah." One CD.
