While enjoying her Sicilian retirement, Auntie Poldi is confronted by John Owenya, detective inspector with the Tanzanian Ministry of Home Affairs, who is also her estranged lying cheat of a husband. In this third case (after The Vineyards of Etna), John is tracking his brother, whom the mob would like to find first. With only a postcard for a clue, Auntie Poldi sets out in a red Maserati Cabrio—but the people she discovers along the way may very well knock her immaculate wig askew.
