Forced into retirement because of his cocaine addiction, former DC cop Frank Marr is now a private investigator. As a favor for his aunt, Marr tracks his cousin Jeffrey, who is involved with a small-time drugs operation. But in this follow-up to The Second Girl, Marr's home is burglarized, and a body has been left—killed by Marr's pistol, which is missing. With his family, his reputation, and his life on the line, Marr will have to descend into a seedy criminal underworld to find the culprit.
