Precious Ramotswe loves her dependable old van, but now Charlie borrows it, and returns it damaged. And, to make matters worse, the interior seems to have acquired an earthy smell that even Precious can't identify. Following To the Land of Long Lost Friends, this 21st outing finds Precious confronted by a distant relative, Blessing, who asks for financial help with an ailing cousin. Precious has still other difficulties, but as always, she can prevail so long as she is led by kindness, grace, and logic.
