Episode 1: When Marcella is called to investigate a body found inside a wall, she is horrified to discover that she knew the victim: Leo Priestley, a young boy who went missing years ago while walking home with her son, Edward.
Episode 2: As Marcella undergoes therapy for her blackouts, the police find DNA linking Leo's death to convicted pedophile Phil Dawkins, but they need more evidence to hold him. Marcella also questions Reg, a former rock-band member with health issues.
Episode 3: Jason issues Marcella a devastating ultimatum: grant him sole custody of their children or he'll tell everyone about her blackouts. Meanwhile, a lead on the latest body takes the detectives to a brothel, and Phil's true identity is leaked to the press.
Episode 4: After questioning Reg about a girl who went missing following one of his concerts in the '80s, Marcella makes a startling revelation about Jason in hypnosis therapy. Blaming Marcella for his family tragedy, Phil seeks revenge by targeting Edward.
Episode 5: Police locate the blue truck near where the last victim was found, which leads them to the place where he was held captive. As Marcella's team examine the killer's lair, they are horrified to find evidence of more victims than they originally thought.
Episode 6: Marcella arrests wealthy businessman Vince Whitman, but she is floored by his accusation that Tim has been sleeping with Vince's wife. Reg's manager brings an alarming confession letter to Marcella, prompting a search for Reg.
Episode 7: Now convinced that the killer is a woman, Marcella grills Nigel, the man living near where the children were kept, for information about her. Tragedy strikes close to home when a hostage situation goes wrong.
Episode 8: As Marcella puts the final pieces together, she discovers that Edward is being held captive and races to save him. Later, Marcella decides she's finally ready to face her demons, but will she be able to handle the truth?
