Episode 1: Devil’s Bridge Newly arrived in Aberystwyth, DCI Tom Mathias is called to a scene of carnage: a 64-year-old woman has been brutally attacked, but she's nowhere to be found.

Episode 2: Night Music When an elderly man is bludgeoned to death, Mathias must solve a jigsaw whose pieces include eerie photographs, the German Wehrmacht, and a love story spanning 70 years.

Episode 3: Penwyllt When divers find a young man's body in a quarry lake, the investigation pulls Mathias into the complex web of a close-knit community that lives by its own rules.

Episode 4: The Girl in the Water The body of a young woman in a scarlet dress is discovered at the center of a marshland. Mathias becomes too emotionally involved in the case, a fact that Mared notices.

 

HINTERLAND Season 2 (5 episodes)

Episode 1: In the Dead of Night An arson attack leaves a mother and child fighting to survive. Drawn into a community of failing farms and long-standing feuds, Mathias and Rhys are pushed to the brink.

Episode 2: Ceredigion DCI Mathias is under pressure; his estranged wife has turned up in Aberystwyth, and he’s under investigation by the IPCC. A new investigation provides a welcome escape.

Episode 3: The Tale of Nant Gwrtheyrn The murder of a local dignitary and barrister leads to the uncovering of a tragic story of love and loss, fueled by mistrust in the depths of the hinterland.

Episode 4: Dark River The discovery of a body in a remote lake leads Mathias and the team to investigate the complicated private life of missing schoolteacher Greta Pritchard.

Episode 5: The Sound of Souls DCI Mathias must solve the case of murdered local man Aron Bowen, but to do so he will have to deal with feuding family members and the dead man's runaway daughter.

 

HINTERLAND Season 3 (4 episodes)

Episode 1: Aftermath The killing of a local minister leads DCI Mathias and DS Rhys to a remote community in the mountains. DS Owens heads the investigation into the recent attack on Mathias.

Episode 2: A Poacher’s Discovery Mathias and his team investigate the death of curator Laura Dean, but the discovery of Iwan Thomas’s body puts Mathias in the firing line, as he becomes the main suspect.

Episode 3: Both Barrels When the chief suspect in a fatal shooting kidnaps his young son, DCI Mathias sets off into the mountains alone to find the missing boy and his rampaging father.

Episode 4: Return to Pontarfynach DCI Mathias suspects a link between the death of a convicted killer and the supposed suicide of Iwan Thomas. Will Mathias toe the line or risk it all for the truth?
