Since 1922, the American Library Association has awarded the Newbery Medal to their annual top pick in children's literature, while runners up are named Newbery Honor Books. This collection includes the 2012 Medal winner Dead End in Norvelt by Jack Gantos and also the 1939 winner Thimble Summer by Elizabeth Enright.
